This tool supports climate researchers and protocol developers in systematically evaluating the scientific rigor of biomass carbon removal and storage (BiCRS) protocols. Work through four assessment sections — feedstock sourcing, facility operations, carbon storage, and cross-cutting considerations — rating each feature on how completely the protocol addresses it. Answers are weighted by project type and by section, then rolled up into a single composite score from 1 (fundamentally flawed) to 7 (exemplary), with a breakdown for every section. Most real protocols land in the middle of that range.
